DOUBLE DIGITS!!!

You are not just my brother, 

You are my greatest buddy. 

You turned DOUBLE DIGITS today, 

And I couldn’t be more happy. 

10 since you’ve entered my life, 

10 years of you consistently annoying me. 

10 years of us fighting everyday, 

10 years of us together being silly. 

You’ve been with me through my sad times, 

You’ve tolerated my angry explosions. 

You’ve made my happy days happier. 

You’ve experienced all my emotions. 

We’ve danced crazy like there’s no tomorrow. 

We’ve sung shrieked songs at the top of our lungs. 

We’ve scared each other with tons of ‘Boo!’ 

We’ve exhausted each other with our dumb puns. 

You taught me how to play cricket

You taught me how to play games online

You taught me how to make origami

You taught me to finish work, just before the deadline.

My Sister- Pahal

Pahal- my beloved sister.

She has supported my mischief ever since

We could count on our fingers

She is really very smart,

and caring and loving too!

She helps me feel better

When I am feeling blue

She is very good at studies

and has been since her childhood.

Her smile is beautiful

And she's rarely in a foul mood

I love you, didi, loads

And shall do so forever.

And to tease and irritate you

I shall forget never ;)

Personalities

There are as many people in the world

As many on Earth there are creatures

Humans have different personalities,

Along with distinctive features.

Some are sharp like my sister, Pahal,

Or like my friend, Durva, are humorous.

Some trust only one to keep secrets.

While some others have confidantes numerous!

Some like to write poems or stories,

Others want to paint and draw.

Some are aspiring engineers

Others are interested in law

Some people are quiet and silent

Some are superouslyultra- jumpy

Some want to visit Paris

Others go for Hampi!

We should respect everyone's qualities

They are, after all, humans only

Never ignore anyone around you

Make sure that they don't feel lonely

Let them know you care

'Cause everyone is their own self

Encourage their special talents

Friends are always by your side.

They don't care what others think.

They try hard to pull you out from you misery.

No matter how deeper in grief you sink.

A supporter, someone selfless and loyal

Is everything a friend should be.

We should never keep things from each other.

Remember, honesty is the key.

The friends I have in my life,

Are friends I am grateful to have.

They always have my back.

They are truly amazing and fab.

Friends do fight among themselves,

But they never stay apart for long

One real friend is better than two fake ones

Keep the true ones with you life long

Make your choices wisely,

You are defined by the company you keep

Be truthful, treat your friends nicely

My Uncle's Wish

My uncle asked my cousins and I,

To write something creative on our own.

I decided to write a poem but,

on realizing something I uttered a moan.

I needed a topic to write on,

to fulfill my uncle's solemn wish.

Some topics did circle my mind,

like "Keeping happy and feeding a fish"!

Nah! That's too boring I thought.

Something else would have to be done.

Other ideas included "Sweets",

"School", "Cars" and "How to Have Fun"

Suddenly I had an awesome idea,

to write a poem on this event that took place.

Let me present that in front of you,

Let me see the expression on you face.

The poem you are reading now

is the poem that I have written.

For the next challenge by my uncle,

I think the topic might be "Kittens"!

She is very good at studies,

and always tops the class.

She maintains her timetable,

and has enough time to pass.

A very good friend, indeed

She is tall and pretty,
