Mad Scientist

A friend of mine was a mad scientist
How it felt like, he gave me a gist.
He designed a robot who did work very fast.
I told him believe the invention won’t last.

The robot was a success! It was sold city wide.
I told him, it could go wrong. I really tried.
After 2 months or so, his software had a crash.
Because of those robots, the city was in trash.

The roads had too much litter, the robots won’t listen.
They spread shades of red everywhere, the city was crimson.
We couldn’t do anything; they continued to make a mess.
Others blamed my friend; they now liked him very less.

He started weeping a lot; he didn’t know what to do.
I told him I had an idea, an idea that was new.
My suggestion was to burn every robot in sight.
Believe it or not, they weren’t “alive” next night.

My poor friend was humiliated; he had himself banished.
I thought he would soon come back, but then he just vanished.
I haven’t seen him ever for the past 20 years.
His family feels sad, they are still in tears.

I know he must have done well, I do trust him.
I must reveal the name, his name was Tim.
