The POV of a Criminal

Tip- toe, tip- toe, I get in.
Hush! I shouldn't make a noise.
This and that, maybe a little more.
There, my work is done.
Suddenly I hear it,
The sound of my doom.
Quick, quick, GET OUT!!!
Run, run, don't stop now.
Safe! I am safe! I truly am safe!

I am sort of, er, famous
How?
I am all over the newspaper!
This is how my life is.

AAAHHH!!! (Sorry for shouting your ears off๐Ÿ˜…) I wrote my first free verse. Do let me know in the comments below if you feel it was nice.
Talking about the poem, this is similar to 'The POV of a Cricket Ball'. You guess whose point of view this is, and get a chance to feature in my next poem! (Pahal didi, if you are reading this, caution! You won't get a chance this time *waggles finger playfully๐Ÿ˜‰*)
Lately, I've become so obsessed with writing POVs, that I've even created a label for it.

Comment ☝๐Ÿป, whose POV you want me to write on next!
Thank you!

Hi there! I know I am a little too late to post an independence day poem. But I was so wrapped up in other things, it completely slipped my mind. (Did I mention, I made this poem for an assembly at school?)
Don't forget to comment and follow!!
Thanks!

The POV of a Cricket Ball

Swisshh! There, I am thrown
Incoming! I am almost there
Ouch, I go flying through the air
The shouting from the giants has grown

A young giant finally holds me
He's going nuts for sure
The crowd is waiting, waiting for more
Oh! How I wish I could be free!

Going, coming, here and there
Instead of always getting hurt
and giants rubbing me on their shirt
Oh! How I wish, no one cared

But this, my friends, is my destiny
It is what I am made for
This problem of mine? Has no cure
Very well, at least I help shape history.

There. Its been almost a month since I posted a new poem. Whose point of view do you think this is? Here's a hint: Only a small thing would call something bigger a giant! Do let me know in the comments below. The one who gets it correct, gets a feature in one of my upcoming poems!!!

Don't forget to comment and follow!
Thanks!!

Another Assignment...

Importance of Green Revolution

It was 1947 when India gained independence
The cruel Britishers had been finally chased away
The freedom fighters helped achieve this feat
Along with the locals who also joined the fray

Next, Green Revolution took place
It was during the 20th century
Agriculture and farming greatly improved
Because of newer seeds and machinery

Irrigation was made much more efficient
So were threshing and winnowing
Seeds now produced a higher yield per hectare
Framers had received a blessing!

The farmers could now earn more
This increased income of the primary sector
The GDP of India had greatly improved
Better crops are being delivered

The lives of farmers is now much better
They are able to feed themselves and their family
Green Revolution has ensured economic development
It has been printed on the pages of Indian history

Again... The school asked us to make a poem on the importance of Green Revolution in the economic development of India... Let me know your thoughts on this poem. Is there anything you would like me to make better? Also, I have introduced a new label that reads 'School'. It includes the poems that I have made for school assignments, assemblies, etc. (Just so you know!)

Thank you!

My First Poem Ever

A Bow that is Pretty

My grades are not high
But they are low, low, low
That's because I need a
pretty bow, bow, bow.

The bow should be pink
and blue, blue, blue
And it should be very
pretty too, too, too

Then my grades will surely
get high, high, high
And I will look like a
cutie pie, pie, pie.

There you go! On Ki's request, I have published my first poem ever. I fear my blog will go extinct if I publish poems like this ;) Thank goodness I've got my readers to help me grow. What was your first poem? Don't forget to let me know down in the comments!

Thank you!

How It All Started

We were given an assignment in school,
'Create a poem using your creativity'
The topic had already come to my mind.
I had thought 'A Bow that is Pretty!'

Now, the poem seems a little lame.
Obviously, I was only a kiddie.
My pencil flew across the page.
Ta- da! The poem was ready!

My teacher mentioned it specially!
Could be, she liked it a lot.
I began developing interest,
I started making poems with simply a thought.

My parents guided me to the next step.
My very own blog, yes, mine!
I had fallen in love with (making) poems.
The idea suited me just fine.

September was the month it started.
I was feeling giddy inside.
It was christened 'Mahi's Words'
My heart had swollen with pride.

Its been 2 years now.
My blog has gained popularity (I hope!)
I feel happy the way it started
with 'A Bow that is Pretty'

Yes, this is how it started. I was in the fifth grade, with Tanya ma'am as our English teacher. She gave birth to my love for making poems. My parents? They took it forward. Kudos to all of them. Of course, also to all my lovely readers who have supported me so far!

(Ironically, I absolutely hate understanding poems written by superlyamazingly deep poets, like Robert Frost. Not that he is not great, just doesn't suit my mood. You too? Mention in the comments below!)

Thank you!

Personalities

There are as many people in the world
As many on Earth there are creatures
Humans have different personalities,
Along with distinctive features.

Some are sharp like my sister, Pahal,
Or like my friend, Durva, are humorous.
Some trust only one to keep secrets.
While some others have confidantes numerous!

Some like to write poems or stories,
Others want to paint and draw.
Some are aspiring engineers
Others are interested in law

Some people are quiet and silent
Some are superouslyultra- jumpy
Some want to visit Paris
Others go for Hampi!

We should respect everyone's qualities
They are, after all, humans only
Never ignore anyone around you
Make sure that they don't feel lonely

Let them know you care
'Cause everyone is their own self
Encourage their special talents
Don't forget to be yourself!

Hey there! I hope you liked the poem. As promised, the winner of the  riddle from my previous poem, Durva has been given a special mention. So has Pahal who made several attempts. If want to get featured, look out for my upcoming poems! You might get a chance yourself. Don't forget to tell me which line of my poem matches your personality. And if none does, mention it down!
Don't forget to follow and comment!

Thanks!

The Small Little Things

A walk by the beach
A chocolate to eat
A game of cards
A bird that goes 'tweet'!

A little poetry
A genuine like
A friend to share secrets with
A peaceful mountain hike

A laugh now and then
A little TV time
A coo from a baby
A tinkling wind chime

A lick from a puppy
A kiss from a cat
These small things make me happy
No reason, just like that :)

Making this poem made me feel giddy inside, I would like to thank Ki for giving me this topic and always supporting me.
And now you have a chance of appearing in my future poem. The first person to solve the riddle below and comment gets a feature in any upcoming poem. (That is if I know you!)
What is the shortest word that is a sentence in itself on the English language?
Be true and don't google it!
Thank you!

The Wildest Fantasies

Have you ever thought or imagined,
how humans with 4 eyes would look?
or if animals could talk and speak,
and so could our beloved books!

If we could fly oh so high
and talk to non living things
Or lived in the blue sky,
with pigeons as our kings!

If we had 8 days in a month,
and 2 in each week,
if lions were afraid of rats,
so tiny, timid and meek?

If we were born with white hair,
and our mouth had replaced our nose,
If lotuses were an ugly green,
and we could find a golden rose!

Imagining doesn't hurt no one,
It is the key to many a-door,
It helps me write poems like this,
and makes me wild more!

What is your wildest fantasy? Riding unicorns? Or is it eating transparent popcorn? Do let me know in the comments below! Don't forget comment and subscribe for frequent updates!
Thanks!
